What is a Marriage Mentor?
A marriage mentor is a trusted individual or couple who voluntarily walks alongside pre-married or married couples to offer encouragement, support, and practical wisdom. Drawing from their own life experiences, marriage mentors help others strengthen their relationships by offering a listening ear, honest conversation, and biblical guidance. They serve as a source of encouragement through all stages of a relationship—whether a couple is preparing for marriage, navigating early years, or walking through challenges.
Our marriage mentors are Christ followers who see their role as a calling to invest in the health and longevity of other relationships. Their focus is on fostering connection, communication, and commitment in a safe and caring environment.
What a Marriage Mentor is NOT:
Marriage mentors are not licensed counselors or therapists. They do not provide professional mental health services, clinical diagnoses, or therapeutic interventions. They are also not a substitute for professional counseling, especially in situations involving abuse, addiction, mental illness, or serious marital distress.
Marriage mentors do not charge for their time or services. Their support is offered freely, out of a desire to serve and strengthen marriages in their community.
